ZUNOW Tele-Zunow Cine 38mm f1.1 Rare Fast Tele D-Mount Lens ITEM DESCRIPTION For sale is a rare Japanese Zunow Tele-Zunow Cine 38mm f1.1 lens in D-mount, originally created by Zunow Opt. Co. for and used on Cine cameras. When browsing the internet for information on this lens, one might encounter the Zunow-Elmo 38mm f1.1: it is an exact copy of this lens, except for the fact that it was branded Elmo because these examples were made specifically for the Elmo Cine cameras. The example offered for sale here however has no mention of any other brand than Zunow itself, making it quite a bit harder to find. 38mm is a tele focal length for D-Mount lenses, and finding one with a fast aperture of f1.1 is rather rare. The aperture system closes all the way down to f22 with a 10-bladed aperture design. This lens was originally mounted on a Swiss Bolex H8, and remains in original condition. It can be adapted to digital systems, as a quick search on Google or Flickr will reveal. The example offered for sale here is in original condition, with no adapting done to it yet. That way it remains collectible, but also perfectly adaptable to the digital system of choice by your master adapter craftsman, if preferred.
