A few portraits with Helios (Гелиос) 40-2 85mm f1.5

A couple of photos taken with a great Russian lens Gelios 40-2 85mm f1.5. My version is old, ’87, but like a new, model with a narrow focus ring. It is very sharp in the middle, so it should be used. All photos were taken at the maximum aperture of f1.5. Sony and Fuji bodies were used.

Cons

  • Too heavy
  • Price
  • Lack of contrast in some situations
  • Prone flare
  • Old version difficult to operate due to focus ring

Pros

  • Great sharpness in the center especially
  • Build quality
  • Bokeh
  • Nice swirly effect
  • Minimal focus distance (0.8m)
